According to the Rhode Island Secretary of State's Office, only 50% of registered voters turnout on election day. Citizens of NK have the opportunity to vote for leaders to represent them and their ideas and who will support their interests. At times, politics can seem frustrating or confusing, and it may seem like your vote doesn't matter, but it does- especially in local elections.
To vote in the State Primary on September 13, you need to be registered to vote by August 14. To vote in the General Election on November 8, you need to be registered to vote by October 9.
The last day to request an absentee ballot is 21 days before the election. You can return your absentee ballot request form through the mail or in person. Voted ballots must be received by 8pm on Election Day in order to be counted.
To ensure you are heading to the right location (if you are voting in person), make sure you check your polling place. Also, check in with others to ensure they have transportation to the polls.
