We have seen the impact a crisis in a school can have on a town. In order to move the district forward and repair the damage and hurt caused by the reports of sexual assault on students, it will take a strong administration to help the faculty, staff, students, families, alumni, and the community heal from the tragedy and ensure it doesn't happen in the future. Accountability, transparency, and communication will also be essential.   

Between virtual and hybrid learning, time out due to illness, and wearing masks, every student's learning was impacted during the pandemic. We will need to make sure that we continue to support students and teachers as they navigate this next decade.  

Our district must include structures for educators and students to engage in wellness practices. We need to be committed to providing our teachers with the resources they need to thrive. Our students will be supported when our teachers can bring their best selves to work. 

For students college-bound, we want to ensure that they are academically prepared and competitive for their next steps. For students headed to the workforce, we want to ensure that they bring with them skills that will equip them to define their success as productive members of the community.

The district is currently in a master planning process for its aging facilities. It is essential that this planning process and the execution of the building is done as efficiently and effectively to allow for minimal disruptions and maximize positive impact on the community.

It is proven that students who receive early education become stronger academically. We need to guarantee that all North Kingstown students get an opportunity for quality, affordable, and convenient pre-k education.
